Well City Milwaukee Leadership

Well City Milwaukee has a strong foundation and solid history.   In 2006 the respective health care task forces of the Greater Milwaukee Committee and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce merged to form one unified initiative under the leadership of T. Michael Bolger of the Medical College of Wisconsin. As the group discussed Milwaukee’s health care issues and their impact on the community, one particular strategy began to emerge that the entire group could embrace - wellness. The WELCOA Well City USA initiative was discussed and a leadership group quickly emerged to move this forward.

Well City Milwaukee is a collaboration, led by three key partners: the City of Milwaukee, the Greater Milwaukee Committee (GMC), and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC).

The organizational structure for this collaboration includes a leadership team, steering committee and subcommittees. A representative from each of the organizations listed below make up the leadership team. Additional stakeholders and supporters make up the steering committee and all are invited to serve on subcommittees.

Both the leadership team and the steering committee are led by co-chairs Mary Meehan, President, Alverno College and Arvid Tillmar, Partner, Diversified Insurance.
